Represent Deschutes Endorses Amanda Page for County Commission Seat #3

A little over two years ago, Represent Deschutes was formed with a simple goal: knock things loose in Deschutes County.

Three commissioners oversaw a government entity that touches nearly every aspect of our daily lives and manages a budget approaching three-quarters of a billion dollars. Residents felt the frustration of a stagnant governing body that wasn’t keeping pace with the needs of a growing and changing county. That frustration turned into action.

In a historic vote, 75,683 voters in Deschutes County, two-thirds of the County, said YES to expanding the County Commission from three to five members. It was a clear message: our county government should better reflect the people it serves.

This May, voters will not only choose representatives for the two new seats, but also for Seats #1 and #3. Out of the many candidates that have stepped forward, one candidate stands out as someone truly ready to continue the work of moving Deschutes County forward: Amanda Page.

Amanda Page embodies the spirit that fueled the creation of Represent Deschutes. She is a uniter and a problem solver. She has won tough races against difficult odds, showing both resilience and the ability to build broad coalitions. She listens first. She asks thoughtful questions. And she is not afraid to challenge the “established” norms of local politics, which have contributed to the stagnation.

As a single mother, a flight paramedic, a fierce advocate for our children, and a member of the Klamath Tribes, Amanda brings lived experience, compassion, and strength to the table. She understands both urgency and responsibility. She has demonstrated a commitment to service in her professional and personal life, and she carries that same commitment into public leadership.

Represent Deschutes was built on the belief that local government works best when it is responsive, accountable, and willing to evolve. Amanda Page represents that next step forward.

Represent Deschutes is proud to offer its full endorsement of Amanda Page for Deschutes County Commission Seat #3. We encourage voters across the county to support her vision, her leadership, and her commitment to a Deschutes County that works for everyone.
